Our guest speaker, Andy Broderick, VP Community Investment at Vancity, will talk about sustainable communities.

Hunter Education course this Saturday - space available!

The Food Program is hosting Ken Cameron, instructor, on Saturday, April 26 to teach the Conservation Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE), a program for BC residents who are 14 years of age or older. It covers conservation, ethics, law and regulations, first aid and survival in the wilderness, firearm safety, and animal and bird identification.
Course fee is $150, which includes the course, manual, and exam. Successful completion of this course is the only requisite to get a hunter number card, which you need in order to get a hunting license and tags.

the Peace Run

The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is coming to Galiano Island! On June 28th the runners will arrive from Vancouver Island to help cut the ribbon on the first trail of our fledgling 200-acre Peace Park.

Now in its 27th year, the Peace Run in the longest torch relay run in the world, running more than 50 thousand miles through more than 100 countries on six continents. Carrying the flaming Peace Torch, the Peace Run seeks to unite people, towns, communities and countries together in friendship.
