A Seedy Morning - Galiano Community South Hall - Saturday, January 28th, 2017, 10am - 1pm

Date:
Saturday, January 28, 2017 - 10:00am

10am-1pm: The Seed Library of Galiano (SLOG) will be having an open-house at the South Hall (141 Sturdies Bay Road, Galiano Island). This is a good time for members (or potential members) to check out the inventory and borrow seeds for the year ahead. Likeminded groups/individuals will also be at the South Hall for a seedy morning to swap or borrow seeds and exchange information.
SLOG has an inventory of approximately sixty different edible seed varieties for loan. The Seed Library is open to Galiano residents; a lifetime membership of $10 entitles one to borrow seeds and return new ones at the end of the growing season. Our goal is to build a stock of locally viable, organically grown seed that flourishes in our climate.
Any questions? Please contact Colleen at galianofoodprograms@gmail.com.

Curious? Please drop in at the South Hall on Saturday, January 28th (10am-1pm) and check us out! You may also wish to stay for the Intro to Beekeeping workshop that starts at 1pm, followed by a workshop for more experienced beekeepers at 3:30pm.
